Testings — Heavy Metals and Microplastics

Our Testing & Verification Practices

Because mineral-based ingredients come directly from nature, the environments they’re sourced from can contain trace elements and contaminants. Our manufacturing facility in the USA is built around a rigorous system of verification, documentation, and oversight — designed to confirm that every material meets our quality and safety benchmarks before it’s released.

Heavy Metals Testing

As part of our harvest testing program, IOMIN ingredients undergo heavy metals testing — a core pillar of the quality and compliance verification process at our USA manufacturing facility. Testing is carried out by independent, third-party laboratories and reviewed internally through our quality governance framework. Beyond harvest-stage testing, we also run heavy metals analysis on every production batch, so verification continues throughout the entire production cycle.

Our heavy metals testing practices include:

  • Testing at the time of harvest
  • Analysis of every production lot and finished product
  • Results reviewed prior to material release
  • Heavy metals levels checked against applicable regulatory safety standards
  • Independent, third-party laboratory analysis as part of our quality review process

This lot-specific, batch-level testing gives downstream customers the consistency, traceability, and documented verification they can rely on.

Microplastics & Environmental Contaminants

We address microplastics through an environmental and supplier/material oversight program, forming part of our broader quality and compliance verification framework. Testing is conducted by independent, third-party laboratories and reviewed internally as part of our quality governance process.

Our microplastics monitoring practices include:

  • Annual testing
  • Independent, third-party laboratory analysis as part of our verification program
  • Integration into our broader supplier and material oversight
  • Ongoing monitoring of sourcing environments over time
  • A risk-based monitoring approach rather than routine lot-by-lot testing
  • Results reviewed within our internal quality governance framework

Because microplastics are a widespread environmental factor and testing methods are still evolving, this approach lets us monitor conditions responsibly while staying accurate about what current testing can and can’t tell us.

Quality Oversight & Compliance Framework

Heavy metals and microplastics testing are just one part of a broader quality system built around:

  • Defined testing schedules
  • Lot traceability and documentation
  • Controlled material release procedures
  • Ongoing supplier and sourcing oversight

This framework is designed to support formulation, regulatory review, and quality assurance needs for our B2B customers.

Documentation & Technical Requests

Summary testing information, certificates of analysis, and other supporting documentation are available on request for qualified customers and partners.

Testing, verification, and environmental oversight aren’t separate from how we source and operate — they’re built into it. Responsible stewardship of the Great Salt Lake underpins our entire approach to quality, from harvest practices to long-term environmental monitoring.
